Rain and Wind and More Rain and Wind

We have had a really awful day. It began with the gate of the fence being ripped off of its hinges, necessitating a hasty repair in driving rain. Our garbage can, one of the big ones, blew over in the wind and the other one, with leaves and grass in it just disappeared. Our lemon tree was blown over but it is salvageable. The gutter on the side filled with leaves and too much water requiring a hasty clean out, and my cuts have just about stopped bleeding. On the plus side, I bought a steam cleaner and managed to get all of the grout cleaned on the tile floor in the kitchen, my grading for my online course is up to date, my syllabi for my spring courses are just about done and we have probably ended any water shortage. Wind gusts were in the fifty or sixty mile category here but in some of the mountains it was over 150 MPH, so I guess we can't complain too much. And at least we are not delivering the mail or working outside today.
