If you have not read this book, by Khaled Hosseini, you should. It is one of the finest books I have read in quite some time. Zara, one of my Afghan students told me it was an excellent book and she was right. If you want to understand Afghans, moderate and immoderate Muslims, this is a perfect book.

His new book is real good too. It is titled 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'. Have you seen the Kite Runner movie? I wonder if it is good.
The book, 'The Blood of Flowers' by Anita Amirrezvani is very good too. Also, I enjoyed 'The Kabul Beauty School' about an American woman who started a beauty school there.
I like learning about other cultures. We watched the movie 'The Namesake' about an Indian family. It was interesting.
