If you are in the area this weekend, we highly recommend visiting the Mountain Mandarin Festival in Auburn, California. Just north of Sacramento, Auburn is a small town at about 1000 feet altitude. It is not far from Sacramento but a long way from the river delta that Sacramento is surrounded by and very different. It is the beginning of the Sierra Nevada foothills, will actually have some snow in the winter and it has a very cute old town. We try to attend every year. We also recommend the mandarin pizza - really.

Mandarin Festival
