Our Weekend

We did not really have much of one. On Friday I spent five hours in the afternoon as Chair of a grievance committee examining if the administration acted properly in denying a professor a promotion. Then just as I got home, Rhonda was off to a Baccalaureate, which means a sermon to a graduating class, at William Jessup University. Then the next morning we went to Adventure Christian Church for graduation for WJU. I wore my robe as I am on the board. It was very well attended with easily 2500 folks, which is the reason it was held there. We came home and I mowed the lawn in the 102 degree heat, swam and collapsed. Today, I was back at Adventure, hawking tickets to our annual fund raiser for Homestart, the homeless shelter for families where I am president of the board. Rhonda is currently at a bridal shower for Sami, one of her former students, (also an employee of Homestart) and then we will go to a local fund raiser called Raising Spirits that gives money to Homestart and other charities. It is held at Morgan Creek Golf Course and Country Club and I have never been there, so that will be nice. Click on the link if you want to see why we live in this area.
