The community is invited to attend a presentation by Dr. John Boyd, tentatively entitled "Time and Social Forces on Behavior," as part of the Psychology Department's Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series. This event will be held on Wed., 9/26, at 2 PM in the Hinde Auditorium, University Union, Sac State campus. Reception is planned to follow in Room 354 Amador (Psychology Department). Dr. Boyd will be also be available to discuss careers in Social Psychology with students earlier in the afternoon (contact George Parrott at gparrott@csus.edu for additional information).
John Boyd did his psychology undergraduate courses and the beginning of his graduate work in psychology here at CSUS. He was recruited for the Ph.D. program in social psychology at Stanford and completed his Ph.D. there under the direct mentorship of Professor/Dr. Phil Zimbardo. Boyd has co-taught social psychology courses at Stanford with Zimbardo and is working with Zimbardo at this time in a co-authorship capacity on a forthcoming social psychology volume.
Dr. Boyd is currently Director of Research for Yahoo Inc.
