Time has passed and things are all fixed, so now we can laugh about this: Hey everybody, If you haven't already heard, I crashed the car through the house yesterday. Everybody is okay; Addison was in the car, and Bones was in the yard but not in the way. Austin was at school already (I was just getting back from taking him,) and Andy is in Houston for the week. These are the first pictures he's seen... Dia, this was a pretty fast way to demolish, but I don't know if I would recommend it because it was hell on my car. Here's what went through my head: 8:05:00 a.m. Should I pull in the garage or not? Uhhhh...I dunno.....Yes, it might be raining when we go to preschool. 8:05:01 Oh, crap, I have a bad angle. 8:05:015 Oh, no! I think I am scraping the side of the car on the house! Look at that! I AM hitting the side of the house! Hit the brake! (It was the gas.) 8:05:016 Why didn't the car stop? Hit the brake HARDER!!!! (It was the gas...I totally slammed it.) 8:05:017 Oh, SHIT! What's happening? My car is out of control! Wait, am I on the gas? I'm like one of those old people on the news! (No offense, grandmothers.) Rewind! Can I start this day over? I should probably stop pressing the gas and try and move my foot to the brake......It's like a roller coaster only really bad! Maybe I'm about to wake up..... I think this is going to be bad...... 8:05:0175 CRASH!!!!!!! Is this real? I seriously want to have a do-over for this day. I just busted through the wall....hey, there's my garage shelf on my car! Look at those bricks fly!!!...but the windshield didn't break....amazing! BRAKE!!!! 8:05:018 We're okay! Get out of the car! Shit, this is going to be a big project. I called Andy and my Dad and had a good 30 minutes of shaking and crying. My miracle-working Dad came down immediately and we started cleaning up. He got the hole (can I call it a hole? It's too big to just be a "hole...." Anyway, he rebuit it and got it fixed except for the brick, which we'll get to soon. It can't be seen from the street; it's in a good spot if there is one. I went right between two pipes....I did a great job, actually. That wall needed fixing, anyway. My car is pretty ugly...I have to take it in right now, in fact. Thanks for reading. The only good thing about this is that it's a fun story to tell (now that it's the 10th time I've told it....I cried for the first few tellings....) Love, Ang
