Cambodia

We went to hear a presentation from our friend, Don Brewster, a missionary to Cambodia, yesterday. He left later in the day to assist in victim witness statements after a jury convicted a character in Los Angeles of child slavery and abuse. If you want to make a difference, donate here at the their site. We did. Cambodia is a broken country. I cover it in some of my courses. It is a perfect example of what happens when a country destroys itself and how long it takes to recover. Child mortality is rising, the result of abject poverty. They also have major problems resulting from the Khmer Rouge, who managed to slaughter all the educated folks, including those wearing glasses, and then all religious folks, of any religion. The country has a very high illiteracy rate, and not much of a moral compass and is number one in the world for child enslavement. If I had the money, I would video every arriving passenger to Cambodia from outside the country, by train, bus and air, and post the photos on a Website, inviting the world to ask arrivals why they are there.
