Medical Bills You Should Not Pay

When you have health insurance and visit a doctor or a hospital, you often get a notice from the health care provider that your insurance did not pay the entire amount and you owe the balance. You don't, as this article details. But over half of the folks go ahead and pay it.

A few years ago, my insurance paid out of network fees because they said my doctor/clinic were out of network. I protested because I had called to be sure they were in network and checked their website.

I also heard that sometimes they randomly throw away claims, hoping the patient and doctor's office gives up on them. But now, doctors in Texas can file whats called a Hassle factor claim against insurance companies that do this.
