Busy Weekend

Wow! I sometimes think that we do more than most folks and this weekend proves it. On Friday, after a contentious faculty meeting, and Sayre was right when he observed that "the politics of the university are so intense because the stakes are so low,"we finally got on the rode to So. Lake Tahoe and a meeting with the cousins, to celebrate Tom Walters' retirement. We had agreed to stay in a house on the lake that Donna had reserved for us and other family members from Tom's side of the family. What to expect? We arrived at 739 Lakeview Ave. to find Clint and Juanice, Tom's uncle and aunt and a house on the lake that must be worth several millions. It had four levels, with a master bedroom overlooking the lake on top, then a level with a huge kitchen and Sub Zero and a Thermador Cooktop which we loved, a huge deck, an entertainment room and a huge living room. The next level down contained four bedrooms and the laundry room and the basement was a game room with pool, table tennis and poker. The house was decorated for Christmas and was just amazing. With a beach and a dock in front, we may be going back. Everyone was great and we had wonderful visit. Here are pictures of the view of the lake from the deck and Rhonda in front of the tree. And one of me.
