We are back from our annual Christmas trek to the east coast. Everything generally went well and we had a good visit. We began on the 22nd by driving to San Francisco and staying at the Westin. They have a stay and park rate that is pretty competitive and they are only five minutes from the airport. We arrived in the early afternoon, checked in and then decided to find a place to eat. I did some research and this Italian restaurant received some good reviews. Wow, they were right. The Stella Alpina Osteria Northern Italian place in Burlingame is one of the best spots we have found. We shared a Caesar Salad that was fresh and just perfect, and Rhonda had Risotto with Mussels and Prawns and I had a filet mignon which was amazing. We will definitely go back there again and soon. Our flight the next morning was on time and uneventful and we made it to the cabin, pictured above, by about 10 PM. Our rental vehicle was a four wheel drive Hyundai Santa Fe that was not needed as the weather was fine. Rhonda came up with a great Christmas dinner and another a couple of days later. We even took the folks for a drive to Mcveytown and they enjoyed it. I still cannot believe the Amish and Mennonites use buggys and bikes, but at least they now have lights on them that you can see. Got back on the 30th and all is well. Happy New Year to all of you.
